Formed in 2016, The First Tee of Indiana-East Central is one of the newest Indiana program locations. East Central encompasses Anderson and Muncie and offers the Certifying Program at two locations: Delaware Country Club and Fall Creek Golf Course. Both eight week sessions at Fall Creek GC and Delaware CC were led by PGA members, Tom Harris (Delware CC) and Scott Davis (Fall Creek GC). While the curriculum taught at each location is the same, Delaware CC classes cost $149 and Fall Creek classes cost $60. In 2017, we plan on expanding our green-grass locations to include Anderson Country Club. Find out more information about what we are doing in your community on our Facebook Page.

Introduction to the game of golf with an emphasis on learning The First Tee Code of Conduct, core values, golf skills and healthy habits as well as appreciating the etiquette and rules of the game. Every participant must start at this level, regardless of their age or skill level.
Focuses on interpersonal skills, communication and self management skills.
The Birdie level focuses on emphasizing goal-setting, golf skills and the healthy habits.
Emphasizes resilience skills, conflict resolution, and planning for the future. Golf skills become a heavier focus at the Eagle level and the skills test becomes much more advanced.
In the highest and most advanced level of The First Tee, Ace participants learn how to give back to their community through a focus on volunteerism and education. Planning for the future, honing golf skills, and setting goals are major components to Ace level.

The First Tee of Indiana-East Central offers scholarships to kids on a need basis. Our goal, as a community, is to ensure every kid has a place to learn, have fun, and cultivate friendships. If you want to apply for a scholarship, please fill out the application, and submit to Andrew Gridley at agridley@indianagolf.org

The First Tee relies heavily on the help of volunteers to run our programs. While many opportunities relate to golf, most locations have the need for support off the course as well. Some of the volunteer opportunities at locations include event planning, mentoring, coaching, and in-school programming.

As a volunteer, you will be looked upon as a model of The First Tee’s Nine Core Values: Honesty, Integrity, Perseverance, Judgment, Responsibility, Respect, Courtesy, Confidence, and Sportsmanship.  In addition, you will be identified as a trustworthy, caring adult.
