Thank you for your interest in The First Tee of Indiana-Columbus. In 2016, we established a successful partnership with the Columbus Parks Department, which gave us a home base at the Rocky Ford Par 3 Golf Course. With help from the Parks Department and NSP teachers, we doubled our summer Certifying Program participants and expanded our reach in Columbus. These eight-week classes were led by PGA professional Keith VanDeventer and our certified assistant volunteer coaches.
Since 2013, the AJGA has hosted a junior tournament at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus. The AJGA tournament committee selected the Columbus First Tee location as a beneficiary of this event and have donated more than $40,000 to The First Tee of Indiana-Columbus. Find out more information about what we are doing in your community on our Facebook Page.
The First Tee of Indiana-Columbus offers scholarships to kids on a need basis. Our goal, as a community, is to ensure every kid has a place to learn, have fun, and cultivate friendships. If you want to apply for a scholarship, please fill out the application, and submit to Kristtini Hunt at email@example.com.
We rely heavily on the help of volunteers to run our programs. While many opportunities relate to golf, most locations have the need for support off the course as well. Some of the volunteer opportunities at locations include special events, mentoring, coaching, and in-school programming. As a volunteer, you will be looked upon as a model of The First Tee’s Nine Core Values: Honesty, Integrity, Perseverance, Judgment, Responsibility, Respect, Courtesy, Confidence, and Sportsmanship. In addition, you will be identified as a trustworthy, caring adult.
